ETC 6
Shantelle Omar 4, Ruth Muhwati 1, Isabella Texiera 1.
The year 10 girls had a great match for their last game of the season; playing away to Cavendish they looked fast, sharp and skilled in their match play.  Lola Olusanya demonstrated an athletic performance in intercepting the Cavendish attacks, but was also able to distribute well to the likes of April Marshall and Toni Robertson.  Within 2 minutes of play Marshall was able to feed the ball to Omar at the edge of the D, a great run from Ruth Muhwati allowed Omar the time and space to get her 1st shot of the match off.  Great accuracy and precision for such a difficult shot, 1-0 ETC.  ETC did not stop there; at half time we came in 4-0 up, with Omar (3) and Muhwati (1) getting themselves on the score sheet.
Second half saw a change in personnel, Muhwati made way for Isabella Teixeira who proved herself to be a very useful late comer to the squad.  ETC started as they finished, Cavendish could not break down the combination of Tash Guthrie, Jess Gouveia and Bekki French in Defence.  All three girls anticipated well and made it extremely difficult for Cavendish to get into any rhythm.  Cavendish did manage to tighten up at the back making it harder for ETC to shoot, the dying minutes saw Teixeira net a well deserved goal, finishing the game 6-0 to ETC.
MVP:  THE WHOLE SQUAD “this has been the most committed and organised squad I have worked with here at ETC, all girls work hard for each other and are now grasping a good understanding of the game.  I hope we can keep the same group of players together for their final year here at ETC.  WELL DONE!”

CAVENDISH 8
ETC 1
Brioni White
The year 9 girls finished their netball season with a tough away fixture to Cavendish.  Cavendish had some technically strong experienced players that not only compete for their school, but also represent teams outside of school.  ETC worked hard to gain possession and keep up with play, but the powerful accurate passing from Cavendish proved too strong for us. Heidi Jabbarri was agile and managed to find some space for ETC, with Vicky Davies and Giovanna Lombardo working hard defensively in their debut appearance for the school.
Two minutes into the game and Cavendish scored, from then on the floodgates opened and they became near on impossible to stop.  Chloe Baker Rebounded shots and intercepted the ball on numerous occasions, however Cavendish were always quick to respond when they lost possession and within moments regained it back. A glimmer of light came in the dying moments of the game when ETC managed to work the ball into the ‘D’ for Brioni White to score.

YASMINE SCOTT 3
The year 8 girls had a great match against Cavendish, all the players were organised and ready to play whilst Kayla McCarthy watched and cheered on from the sidelines.
Abbie Sanders and Becki Lawlor formed a great partnership at the back, intercepting any Cavendish attacks and driving the ball forward to our attacking players; giving our shooters the opportunity to score.
At the start of the game ETC looked a threat going forwards, Yasmine Scott produced our first goal within 5 minutes.
Holly Marshall defended well and worked extremely hard for the team throughout, which she has done in every game this year.  Rhianna Hagger passed the ball accurately helping the team keep possession.
Half time came and Miss Abdalla made a tactical substitution, Lola Whittaker came on for Rhianna Hagger and Jordanna Quinnel became wing attack which gave us an extra option out wide.  Jordanna moved into great space and passed the ball into the shooting ‘D’ successfully on many occasions.  Within moments of the restart whistle Yasmine Scott had found space to shoot and was on target taking the score to 2-0 ETC.
In the last stages of the game Lola Whittaker out jumped her marker to rebound a wide shot back to Yasmine Scott.  Yasmine composed herself and shot again with success, giving her a hatrick and bringing ETCs score to 3-0.  Fantastic team performance!
MVP: “ABBIE SANDERS “worked exceptionally hard, intercepted many Cavendish attacks and pushed ETC forward”

CAVENDISH 9
An improved team performance led by Abbie Corke, better passing and communicating but still struggling to create goal scoring opportunities. The team has shown great commitment and we look forward to our last game of the season away to Ratton on Monday 20th.
MVP: ABBIE CORKE “Continually leads by example and is inspirational to her team mates”

WILLINGDON 3
ETC 5
SHANTELLE OMAR 5
The year 10 netball team had a very strong game against Willingdon.  The team worked well together in getting the ball into their shooting D.  Emily Gillam and Shantelle Omar made some great interceptions to help ETC keep hold of the ball.  Half time arrived and the score was 2-0 to ETC.
April Marshall made a great effort to get into spaces and attack the ball.  Tasha Guthrie and Bekki French jumped well in defending any shots that Willingdon created.
Five minutes into the second half and Willingdon seemed to step it up a gear, bringing the score to 3 all.  However this inspired ETC to regain control of the game putting more pressure onto Willingdon.  Ruth Muhwaki was being tightly marked throughout but managed to help us by rebounding any Omar shots to keep possession.  Isabella Teixeira making her debut appearance for ETC was quick to get into spaces and was sharp when passing the ball.  The team worked exceptionally well together, good job.
MVP:  SHANTELLE OMAR “Driving force in attack, demonstrated some quality individual skill.”

Last Thursday our year 9 girls played against Willingdon. Although the score was disappointing the attitude of the girls and quality of play was a great improvement from last weeks match.

BISHOP 10
The year 8 girl’s netball team had their second match against Bishop Bell.  ETC had enough players but didn’t have any subs. ETC defended exceptionally well in the 1st half, making it hard for Bishop Bell to score.  Holly Carter and Holly Marshall battled hard to regain possession from BB, however unfortunately BB had an added advantage of height which made it difficult for ETC to keep the ball and get out of their defensive half.  Half time arrived and Bishop Bell managed to break through Rebecca Lawlor and Holly Carter to score. Half time whistle saw BB go in 1-0 up.
Yasmine Scott made some good jumps to get the ball at the start of the second half, however despite hard work from the team BB scored again within 5 minutes of the restart, which seemed to open up the flood gates.  Rhianna Hagger and Jordanna Quinnell moved into some good spaces to receive the ball.  ETC kept their heads up and tried their best, well done to all the team.
MVP:  HOLLY MARSHALL “Fantastic commitment and work rate, linked defence to attack well”

BISHOP BELL 5
An improvement from last weeks game, ETC were far more competitive and looked organised.  Abbie Corke was inspirational and led the team by example.  The fast free flowing play of Bishop Bell made it extremely hard for the ETC girls to gain any rhythm in possession.
Good flowing play led to ETCs first goal of the season by Abbie Corke.
MVP: ABBIE CORKE “Hardworking, inspirational and a good leader”

ETC 2
BISHOP BELL 3
SHANTELLE OMAR 2
High paced, physical and competitive are the best ways to describe this game.  Bishop Bell hold an impressive netballing reputation, but the ETC girls came into the game with confidence having just beaten Ratton with a first-class performance.
The first half saw ETC on the back foot, defending well with Bekki French stopping every Bishop Bell shot on goal. The longer the half went on the more ETC were filled with self belief, gradually initiated their own attacks from defence to put Bishop Bell on the back foot.  The half finished 0-0.
Early in the second half BB broke away scoring 2, this seemed to drive on ETC to another level. Shantelle Omar showing her intelligence and speed of thought on court playing some delightful balls to work her way into the D.  Two great attacks coming out of defence through Tasha Guthrie and Lola Olusanya, allowed April Marshall and Toni Robertson to get more involved in attack, assisting Shantelle Omar in scoring 2 to make it even.  The last few minutes of the game saw both teams battling hard, both had opportunities to take the lead however the pressure seemed to overwhelm both teams shooters.  The dying seconds saw BB take their chance to score finishing the game 3-2.
A fantastic game that the girls should all be proud of, a draw would have been a fair score.
MVP 1st half: BEKKI FRENCH “a rock at the back of defence and stopped every single BB shot”.
MVP 2nd half: SHANTELLE OMAR “her intelligent games mentality drives the team forward and on target twice for the team”.
