Another disappointing away game. We hope to get some respect back in our last league game.

The game kicks off and under a minute Alfie Dunne slides ETC home to make it 1-0. A couple of defensive errors but ETC stayed strong. ETC almost got a second got a second with Andrew Swanborough just missing the target.
A well delivered corner put Seaford back in the game. However ETC did not give up, a great cut inside from the left wing by Jake Maynard and a brilliant shot gives ETC the lead once again.
A run down the right by Alfie Dunne and a great ball in almost gives ETC a third but Ryan Fern puts it over the bar.
Another great goal by Jake Maynard gives ETC a 3-1 lead going into half time.
The second half kicks off with ETC carrying on with their impressive performance from the first half. Seaford managed to create a chance only for young star Kane Stolton to make a great save. ETC made a tactical substitution.
Seaford struggled throughout the whole match with the speedy Reece Colymore and Alfie Dunne. ETC created a great counter attack that resulted in a corner.
Seaford created a chance resulting in a great strike making the score 3-2. Callum with a crunching challenge stopped Seaford in their tracks.
A great throw by Lee Schooling to Reece Colymore who then took on the player and slotted it home for a 4-2 lead for ETC. Another counter attack with Karl Watling scraped the post. Reece Colymore with possibly the goal of the season with a 30 yard cracker in the top corner, made the score 5-2. Alfie Dunne and Reece Colymore created a fantastic one – two with Reece slotting the ball in the corner of the net for his hat trick. With the score at 6-2 Seaford go up in attacking force and are able to put another ball in the back of the net to get the score to 6-3, but ETC reply with a composed Alfie Dunne slotting it into the corner to make it 7-3. As the whistle blows ETC celebrate their first victory for an impressive year 7 side that look to have a great chance of winning the league.

Welcome back to you all!!! I hope you have enjoyed your break and are refreshed and ready for the 08-09 year of sport her at ETC.
We have a few new things this year for you to look out for; these include badminton matches and gymnastic competitions. Hopefully this will inspire a few more of you to get active and get involved.
Term one fixtures will include boys football, girls netball and football.

The Year 9 football team travelled to Hailsham for their first league game of the season. The squad was depleted by a number of players who did not attend the trials and a few boys were making their school debuts. From the outset the bigger and stronger Hailsham team looked keen and were first to every ball.
The score was 3-0 at half time and if it had not have been for Kieran Parkes in goal the score could have been double figures by the final whistle.
Shane Constable and Sean Dunne came closest to scoring, we certainly deserved a goal!!! HCC were not 7 goals better than us, however they took their chances and their boys were quicker and determined.
The team had a good discussion after the match and will put a few things right for their next outing.

After three days of trials last week, this years football squads have been published. Due to a great turn out from the boys, we are running three B teams in addition to five A teams who will play league matches in Term 1.
Both myself and Mr. Bowles are extremely grateful to Mr. Raybould and Mr. Myrie (Year 7/8B), Mr. Ellis (Year 9B) and Mr. Booth (Year 10/11B) for giving up their time voluntarily to assist in training the B team squads. They will have friendly matches and tournaments in Term 2.
Congratulations to all of the boys who have been selected. The squad lists and fixtures can be found on the following pages.
Players and parents please take note of the dates of the matches and training. You are of course welcome to come along and watch any of the games and show your support. On the days of these games or training, your son will be late home from school. For home games, your son will be dismissed from school at approximately 4:45pm and away games they will be dismissed at about 5:15pm.
On the day of these matches/training, your son will need to bring in football boots, shin pads, red football socks and black shorts. The PE Faculty will provide a football shirt.
