Wednesday 3rd June: YEAR 9 GIRLS ROUNDERS

ETC 12½ Rounders
CAUSEWAY 9½ Rounders

The year 9s had their first Rounders match of the summer, at home to Causeway. ETC were focused and new exactly what each of their roles were. The match consisted of 2 innings, 18 good balls for each.

The girls made an extremely strong start, fielding first they put the pressure on Causeway by not allowing the away side to get any half Rounders; keeping their score low. ETC then stepped into
bat and set a high score with Susmita Tamang getting a Rounder from each of her goes.

With Causeway now on the chase during the second innings, ETC knew the pressure would be on!! A few lapses in concentration allowed Causeway to get a few easy Rounders, filling their team with more belief that they could win the game.

Once ETC had settled however they were back to their organised way. Immy Robinson was outstanding at back stop, with some efficient pick ups and throws. Kez Trainer made some exceptional catches out deep in the field, which made it hard for Causeway to continue in their quest to win the match.

ETC had fielded well and knew that if they went into bat and continued how they did in the first innings, the game would be theirs. Each player looked confident when in, again Susmita Tamang was flawless getting another two Rounders.

A fantastic performance by all!!
Well done girls, you deserved it!!
